Erm...have you heard of such a thing as the flow of the lyrics and music?
The line couldn't go "Songs like Tainted Love and Strange Love" because that
would not sound good.

Anyway, we can't really know - even Neil may not have had a specific song in
mind. If he did, there are several "Love is Strange"s to choose from, as
well as the ones you mention.

I think this relatively uninteresting discussion has gone on far too long :)
But it's nice to see some activity on this list again.
