[trash-talk] support the troops

Shell,

Abbey did not say that her husband did not believe in what he was fighting for. It's YOUR assumption that Marines are "killing" for something that they don't believe in. The first time you made that assumption a few days ago, I pointed the error out to you off-line on that chance that it was an unintentional misstatement. I see by your repetition of the error that your distortion was intentional. It takes a lot of gall for you to accuse brave women and men, whom you have never met, of being hypocrites.

If you had the courage of YOUR convictions, you would go to Iraq, join the terrorists, and fight against the evil Marines. Will YOU stand up and be counted? No, I suppose not. You prefer to sit at your computer and take cheap shots at a Marine's wife. Wow.

Jeb

There's thousands of soldiers and Marines, not only from the US, but from Britain and other countries, sacrificing their lives to "get the job done." I'm not going to get into whether they're accomplishing anything or not or whether they knew what they were getting themselves into or not, but the fact remains that they deserve our support. It's sad to think of all the families out there that have been through a deployment or are going through one right now. And I know I definitely think about it 'cause my husband is a Marine and he's getting ready to deploy to Iraq a third time. Now, I never thought I would find myself in this situation, I never thought I would find myself in love with someone in the military, boggles my mind, really, but you can't dictate what your heart feels and now that I find myself in this situation I can appreciate what others in the same one must be going through. And maybe most of you have never been in this situation and will never be in this situation so you wouldn't know what I'm talking about, but empathy goes a long way. Just something to think about.
