[Trash-talk] gr: Kylie's La La La + music video directors

Heya

Well, I'vebeen on/off reading La La La , the Kylie Minogue biography thing 
at my sister's house for a while after giving it to her and her husband for 
Christmas. My opinions of the book itself fall mainly into love of the 
photography (some great shots, too many gratuitous) and my mixture of 
opinions of Kylie (I dislike the apparent self-obsession but I berate myself 
for feeling negative towards a woman who appears to love herself - it 
shouldn't be a bad thing!) Anyways this is a gr post so..

So far there have been two mentions of "Shirley Manson and her band 
Garbage". The first is in relation to Stephane Sednaoui (sp?) and the work 
he did for a video. The second is in relation to Dawn Shadforth. William 
Baker (author) is highly completementary of the talented director using 
Special as an example of how she presents woman in an ironic, understated 
sexy way describing certain shots, such as the glimpses of leg, lips and 
gloved hands - similar stylistic methods which were used for Can't Get You 
Out of My Head.

Just thought this worthy of note because I love music videos and how they're 
made and I completely agree with what they said about Dawn. I love her 
videos, I especially love certain shots - very sexy without being overt. I 
think and have always thought that the Special video was amusing and nicely 
made (although I cannot stand the song).

Oh and in the indroduction, William Bakler refers to either video or photo 
shoots that he has done with Garbage. What did he do? The next artist on the 
list is Tricky so I'm assuming it may have been something around the Milk 
time.

As regards garbage videos, I'm unsure of who directed the bg ones and some 
of the V2.O. If anyone could help me compile a list of which director which 
did G video, I'd be really pleased. I'm very interested in that. I'll start 
the list - please add to it or correct me if I'm wrong...

Wow that's a damn crap list. I'd probably know more if I tried.
