Whew, I'll be out of lurker mode for a sec.
So my name is Susan (obviously, since it's my e-mail addy and I'm not cool
enough to have a handle) and I'm currently living in Madison Wisconsin where
I go to school. I'm majoring in psychology and will get my Bachlor's next
year. Right now I'm living in a really shitty little dorm room, but that's
about to change because I'm signing the lease to my very first apartment
this very afternoon.
I don't have a real job yet (though I need two to afford rent), but I do
work to book bands to play here on campus. I also help to being the
distinguished lecturers to campus. I really just help with the two so that
I can get people here that I want to see and meet. I'm trying to get the
job of head of promotions for the music committee, but I think I fucked up
my interview. That's what I get for staying out until 4 AM on a Wednesday.
It'd be uber-sweet, though, because I'd get to design all of our flyers.
Ummm...my most exciting event for the past year was going to Smart Studios.
Apparently my friend Meara interns there or somthing. We wanted them to
volunteer free studio time for a battle of the bands, so Meara hooked up my
friend, Kristy and I with a visit. Since we are random people and didn't
really have anything to offer them in return, besides the Smart logo on
flyers, I decided we should dress up as cowgirls and offer a backpack full
of candy. It was very random. It was cool, but. We met some of the
producers that work there and I got to be in awe of all of Garbage's awards
and Butch's platinum records from producing. And they seemed really excited
about the candy. Plus, Jay, their newest producer, volunteered to be a
judge. No Garbage, but it was awesone nonetheless.
Oh and I'm single, kind of. I met this really great punk guy at a Crystal
Method show the other night, but we're not "dating" or anything. Though he
is awfully sexy.
I'm also still pushing for a meeting of Garbage fans from all over the globe
on Garbage's next tour. We could call it GarbageCon and make shirts (I know
more attempts at trash-talk shirts, but it would be different) and wear name
tags and overwhelm G with a super collection of hardcore fans yelling out
B-Sides. It'd be fun.
