Okay, so I taped the 2-hour VH1 special on 'women of the video era' and
Shirley was in at least four segments of it. I watched it while I was really
sleepy. All of the interview soundbites were .. well, soundbites. Like,
little tiny moments of all sorts of people strewn together. But Shirley's
were always very interesting. The usual sorts of comments she makes that are
clearly thought out, spontaneous, and heartfelt. I noted that all but one
Shirley bit used were taken from the same interview, with the MAC Viva Glam
logo behind her. So guessing, I'll say it was circa Feb of this year or so.
Then for the Courtney Love segment, they used an older clip of Shirley from
pre-BG times. But I'm not sure when, or if it's part of something that's
been shown in a longer interview.

BTW, the choice of Ted Nugent was one of many non-G-related elements of the
special that gave me great mirth and joy. Terrible Ted singing the praises
of Whitney Houston was something I never expected to see in this lifetime.

I could go through and list which of the 50 segments Shirley is in, but I
don't have time to right now. I have to go fix my brother's cat some dinner
and organise his many play toys.

xoxo,
alan
