Hello!

Some of you may remember that I offered to buy The Mail On Sunday for  
introspective readers outside of the UK or who were unable to obtain a  
copy of Story.  Some eighteen people contacted me and I duly organised  
and sent out the CDs, mainly to North America but also to several  
countries around the globe.

I asked not for money but for some simple surprise in return.

Only ONE person, Schwenko, sent me something in return; a fine parcel  
of Canadian candy.  No-one else bothered and only one other person saw  
fit to thank me by email.  I'm not complaining about the costs  
involved.  After all, it was only £1.50 per newspaper but times this  
by eighteen and add on top the cost of stationery and postage...

The money is a side issue.

What's really broken my heart is that people can be like this.  I  
shall never offer to help anyone out in this fashion again.

I thought about naming and shaming offenders here but that's really  
not nice.  I'm doing my level best not to sink to their level.   
However, if something like this happens again, ie a UK only release  
and requests go out for assistance, I shall name those concerned in  
the hope that someone else doesn't fall into the same trap as I did.   
Or perhaps warn to receive funds before anything's bought and posted  
off.

It's all rather sad, actually.
