[Introspective] mailing list vs forum

I prefer the convenience of an emailing list.

When I first joined this list back in 1993 it was incredibly busy,
its members probably generating hundreds of messages a day. However,
about ten years ago or so someone joined this list and proceeded to
destroy it. Most of the listmembers left for greener pastures, and
the ones who remained went silent.
