The final results are in for my poll this past week, in which I asked my
site visitors to select what they regard as the five greatest Pet Shop Boys
singles when considering not just the "hit songs" themselves but also the
b-side(s), bonus tracks, remixes, etc. -- the complete package, so to
speak. And the five singles that received the largest numbers of votes are:

* Being Boring / We All Feel Better in the Dark, chosen by 33.7% of the
voters;

* Can You Forgive Her / Hey Headmaster / What Keeps Mankind Alive? / I Want
to Wake Up, picked by 24.9%;

* Go West / Shameless, also selected by 24.9%;

* West End Girls / A Man Could Get Arrested, chosen by 23.4%; and

* Always on My Mind / Do I Have To?, picked by 22.2%.

To see the complete results, please visit my "Commentary" site at

button in the left nav bar.

Several people commented in online forums, in the poll's "Comments" area,
and in emails to me how difficult they found this past week's poll -- which
didn't surprise me considering that I found it pretty challenging myself.
(I'm still not 100% satisfied with my own choices, but I don't think I'd be
100% satisfied with any alternatives, either. ;-) So I decided to make this
week's new survey much, much easier. I'm simply asking whether you're
planning to buy the upcoming album "Disco 4." So please register your
plans, so to speak, by picking the most appropriate choice right there on
my home page.

Thanks to everyone who voted in last week's survey! And I wish you all a
very happy week ahead!
