As far as I remember, they cut out some repetitive passages from one
track for the CD release.

...I just looked it up in Literally 29 (Nov 2005):

section, "Man and maggots", has been edited down from around
nine-and-a-half minutes to under half that. "It's a very long scene in
the film where people are going round and round the battleship doing
their chores and not being very happy about the maggoty meat and all the
rest of it," Neil explains, "but we felt that as the second track on the
album it seemed too repetitive."

There is also a very small edit in the first track, removing some music
written to fit in with a moment in the film titles which isn't in time
with the beat.

It is also mentioned that the movie and the CD "can be synced up about
14 minutes into the film where a plate is thrown ont the ground and the
sound of the plate smashing is heard on the soundtrack".
