Ireland.

Bleed Like Me album review in AU magazine.
(http://www.alternativeulster.com) by Louise McHenry

"Since the release of "beautifulgarbage" - an album poorly received
commercially, Garbage have suffered a series of metallica-style
communication breakdowns. Coupled with personal problems such as Butch
Vig's life-threatening illness and the end of Shirley Manson's seven year
marriage, working conditions in the Garbage camp were difficult.

Thankfully the band managed to overcome resentments in order to make "Bleed
Like Me" - a definately intimate collection of tracks. While not the return
to the heavier, guitar driven rock or "Garbage", Bleed Like Me" has a harder
edge than its predecessors. "Bad Boyfriend", featuring Dave grohl on drums,
is a wickedly fun, guitar-driven ode to lustful flings.

Unashamedly pop in places, songs cover a wide range of topics; Shirley is
well-known for her opinionated view on everything from the War and American
(evident in tracks such as "Boys Wanna Fight" - a scathing diatribe on the
willingness of superpowers to go to war) to her own relationship problems.

The album finishes with the painfully desolate "Happy Home", simple and
intense with haunting vocals. No, it's not a perfect album - a couple of
meaningless, uninspiring songs put paid to that but it's a powerful comeback
from a band pulling out of a creative nosedive."
