WHAT: A reading of JT Leroy's work and a performance by his band,
Thistle, hosted by Winona Ryder.

St. Mary's Medical Center Foundation in San Francisco.

ABOUT THE MCAULEY PROGRAM:  The McAuley Program is run by Dr. Terrence
Owens, JT's therapist, and who JT credits with starting him writing. The
McAuley program provides high quality and accessible mental health services
for adolescents and is the only inpatient treatment center of its kind in
San Francisco.

JT LeRoy is the author of the International Best Sellers, SARAH (being made
into a film by Steven Shainberg) & The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things
(being made into a film by Asia Argento). His third book will be out on
Viking in 2004.

JT is associate producer on Gus Van Sant's new film, Elephant, for HBO
films. He is part of the rock band, THISTLE (www.thistlehq.com). Thistle is
currently recording with producer Dennis Harring.

JT is a massive rock fan and can be heard on the new Third Eye Blind record.
He also wrote the bio for the new Zwan & Liz Phair record and has, in
general, sold his soul (what is left of it) for rock-n-roll.
