Tomorrow (Saturday) is the last full day of my current poll, which asks you to choose what you consider to be the most underrated and the most overrated Pet Shop Boys studio albums. If you haven't voted yet, please visit my "Commentary" site at http://www.geowayne.com/psbhtml.htm and make your choices right there on my home page. On Sunday I will end this poll, post the final results, and kick off a new survey for the following two weeks. Thanks to everyone who has already voted! And I hope you all have a delightful weekend! Wayne http://www.geowayne.com/psbhtml.htm From psbfan at geowayne.com Sat Mar 9 21:37:38 2019 From: psbfan at geowayne.com (Wayne Studer) Date: Sat, 9 Mar 2019 21:37:38 -0800 Subject: [Introspective] Final results of poll on the most underrated and overrated PSB albums Message-ID: <196c3827-7d32-ef3f-9e3c-591183f86d70@geowayne.com> The final votes are in for my survey of the past two weeks, in which I asked my site visitors to choose what they consider to be the Pet Shop Boys most underrated and most overrated studio albums. And the albums that received the most votes were: * "Elysium," which was named the most underrated album by 17.5% of the voters, and * "Very," which was named the most overrated album by 19.1%. To see the complete results, please visit my "Commentary" site at http://www.geowayne.com/psbhtml.htm and select one of the "Past Survey Results" options from the top navigation bar, or click the appropriate link on my "What's New?" page. My new poll for the next two weeks is the latest edition of my ongoing "Rating Project," in which I ask you to rate PSB songs on a scale of 0 to 10 as they compare to all other PSB songs (*not* songs by other artists). Not surprisingly, this time around I'm focusing on the four tracks from the Boys' recent "Agenda" EP. So please take a few moments to rate each of its songs on the following scale: * 0 if you consider it one of the Pet Shop Boys all-time worst songs, * 1-4 if you consider it a below-average PSB song, * 5 if you think it's an "average" PSB song, * 6-9 if you believe it's an above-average PSB song, and * 10 if you consider it one of their all-time best songs. In the meantime, thanks to everyone who voted in my previous survey! And I hope you all have a terrific two weeks ahead! And the song from "Agenda" that received the highest average rating was: * "The Forgotten Child," which had an average rating of 6.354, with 5.7% of the voters rating it a 10 and 1.2% rating it a 0. To see the complete results, please visit my "Commentary" site at http://www.geowayne.com/psbhtml.htm and select one of the "Past Survey Results" options in the top navigation bar or click the appropriate link on my "What's New?" page. As for my new survey, when I run polls focusing on the Pet Shop Boys' albums, I usually deal strictly with their studio albums. But what about all their other albums -- their compilations, their Disco albums, their live albums, their "special projects"? So my new poll for the following two weeks zooms in on those other oft-neglected albums. Which *three* official PSB "non-studio" albums are your personal favorites? Please take a few moments to make your choices right there on my home page. In the meantime, thanks to everyone who voted in my previous survey! And I hope you all have a wonderful two weeks ahead!
