Tomorrow (Saturday) is the last full day of my current survey, which asks you to pick your three favorite Pet Shop Boys songs from their "Behaviour era." If you haven't yet placed your votes, please take a a few moments to visit my "Commentary" site at http://www.geowayne.com/psbhtml.htm and make your choices right there on my home page. On Sunday I will end this poll, post the final results, and start a new survey for the two weeks ahead. Thanks to everyone who has already voted! And I hope you all have a superb weekend! And the three songs that received the most votes were: * "Being Boring" (no big surprise there!), chosen by 63.6% of the voters (a little more than twice as many as the runner-up), * "This Must Be the Place I Waited Years to Leave," picked by 31.2%, and * "So Hard," picked by 31.0%. To see the complete results, please visit my "Commentary" site at http://www.geowayne.com/psbhtml.htm and select one of the "Past Survey Results" options in the top navigation bar, or click the appropriate link on my "What's New?" page. Continuing this series of surveys, my new poll question for the next two weeks asks you to do the same thing -- pick your three favorite PSB songs -- this time from the "Bilingual era." So please mull this over and, when you're ready, make your three choices right there on my home page. In the meantime, thanks to everyone who voted in my previous survey! And I wish you all a wonderful two weeks ahead! And the three songs that received the most votes are: * "A Red Letter Day," picked by 25.5% of the voters, * "It Always Comes as a Surprise," chosen by 21.4%, and * "Discoteca," selected by 20.8%. Interestingly, the top vote-getter this time around received far fewer votes (in terms of percentage, at least) than the "winners" of my previous two polls, for the Very and Behaviour eras. Yet there were considerably more voters this time around than in those two surveys, and the "spread" of voting was much tighter, with the least popular songs receiving more votes than the least popular in the previous polls. As I said, most interesting. At any rate, to see the complete results, please visit my "Commentary" site at http://www.geowayne.com/psbhtml.htm and select one of the "Past Survey Results" options in the top navigation bar or click the appropriate link on my "What's New?" page. My new survey for the next two weeks continues the "pick three" pattern, but with a very different focus this time around. One of my regular site visitors, Jonathan Cooper, will be DJing a 1970s, '80s, and '90s dance soon and is compiling a playlist of dance tracks for that gig. He wants to include three PSB songs that will be good for dancing, and he wants us to help him make his choices through our votes. But he wants to make sure they're familiar songs to most of his audience, so he's limiting the selections to singles of that period. To that end, I've listed all of the Boys' U.K. and/or U.S. singles of the eighties and nineties, from which we're asking you to pick the three that may not necessarily be your favorites, but which you think will be best for a dance party. So please take a few moments to make your three choices right there on my home page. And thanks, Jonathan, for this terrific poll suggestion. I hope we prove a big help! Thanks to everyone who voted in my previous survey! And I hope you all have a wonderful two weeks ahead! Wayne http://www.geowayne.com/psbhtml.htm
