From the.ackermans at juno.com Wed Jul 4 14:11:07 2018 From: the.ackermans at juno.com (Don Ackerman) Date: Wed, 4 Jul 2018 21:11:07 GMT Subject: [Introspective] Non-PSB Don in Germany & Switzerland Message-ID: <20180704.161107.28703.0@webmail03.vgs.untd.com> Hello fellow fans, I've been a member of Intro for a looong time and I wanted to see if fans had recommendations of sites to see, shops to visit, or if they want to meet up. I'll be in Europe on my own from 15 August to 25 August. On the 15th, I'll be in Zurich and on the 25, I'll be in Frankfurt to fly home. Between those days, I wanted to see if fans had recommendations for things to see in Switzerland and Germany. I also wanted to see if fans want to meet up. I plan to rent a car and haven't figured out hotels, yet. I might couch surf or not. Who knows? Anyway, I've said PSB forever for years and I've meant it. If you want to meet up, let me know. And as always, if you're in Minnesota, let me know. I've hosted some fans at my home and I'd gladly do it again. We're past the days of buying each other CDs and mailing them around the world (US last had the exclusive Essential edition), but I remember those days fondly and always love the fans I met on Intro. That's my note. I hope you are well and enjoying the summer. I'd love to participate in such activities. For now - see you guys in London in a couple of weeks! :-) :-) Cheers, Paolo On 04.07.18 23:11, Don Ackerman wrote: > Hello fellow fans, > > I've been a member of Intro for a looong time and I wanted to see if fans had recommendations of sites to see, shops to visit, or if they want to meet up. Tomorrow (Saturday) is the last full day of my current poll, which asks you to pick your favorite studio "half-album" (that is, a "side" corresponding to that of its vinyl version) by the Pet Shop Boys. If you haven't voted yet, please take a few moments to visit my "Commentary" site at http://www.geowayne.com/psbhtml.htm and make your choice right there on my home page. On Sunday I will end this poll, post the final results, and kick off a new survey for the following two weeks. Thanks to everyone who has already voted! And I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! And the side that received the largest number of votes was: * "Actually" Side 2, chosen by 14.2% of the voters. To see the complete results, please visit my "Commentary" site at http://www.geowayne.com/psbhtml.htm and select one of the "Past Survey Results" options in the top navigation bar or click the appropriate link on my "What's New?" page. My new poll for the next two weeks asks whether you would like for the Pet Shop Boys to record and release a "collaborations" album in which all of the tracks are collaborations with various other artists. Of course, I'm making this more than a mere Yes/No choice. So please check out the options I've listed right there on your home page and pick the one that comes closest to expressing how you feel about this. And thanks to porkchopkid for suggesting this question! Thanks as well to everyone who voted in my previous survey! I wish you all a terrific two weeks ahead! Tomorrow (Saturday) is the last full day of my current poll, which asks whether you like for the Pet Shop Boys at some point to record and release an album consisting entirely of collaborations with other artists. If you haven't voted yet, please take a moment to visit my "Commentary" site at http://www.geowayne.com/psbhtml.htm and make your choice from the options provided right there on my home page. On Sunday I will end this poll, post the final results, and launch a new survey for the following two weeks. (I may, however, be just a little later than usual in doing this, but hopefully no more than an hour beyond my usual schedule.) Thanks to everyone who has voted so far! And I hope you all have a marvelous weekend! And the response that received the most votes was: * "Yes, as long as it's all-new material written or at least co-written by the Boys," chosen by 27.3% of the voters. To see the complete results, please visit my "Commentary" site at http://www.geowayne.com/psbhtml.htm and select one of the "Past Survey Results" options in the top navigation bar or click the appropriate link on my "What's New?" page. My new poll for the following two weeks stems from the announcement this past week that a new book written by Neil Tennant, titled "One Hundred Lyrics and a Poem," will be published later this year. I'm wondering whether you plan on buying this book -- or perhaps have already placed your advance order -- and, if so, which edition (although the pre-order of the special limited edition is already sold out). So please take a moment to select the appropriate option right there on my home page. In the meantime, thanks to everyone who voted in last week's survey! And I hope you all have a fantastic fortnight ahead! Wayne http://www.geowayne.com/psbhtml.htm
