Tomorrow (Saturday) is the last full day of my current poll -- a rather fun, unusual one -- in which I ask my site visitors what they might do if they could go back in time to that London electronics shop where Chris and Neil first met on August 19, 1981. If you haven't voted yet, please take a moment to visit my "Commentary" site at http://www.geowayne.com/psbhtml.htm and make your choice from the options provided there on my home page. On Sunday I will end this poll, post the final results, and start a new survey for the week ahead. Thanks to everyone who has already voted! And I hope you all have a fantastic weekend! And (perhaps not surprisingly) the option that received the most votes was: * "Just stand back to witness their meeting and perhaps subtly eavesdrop on their conversation, but take no other action and don't interfere in any way. Then return to your own time shortly afterward," chosen by a whopping 43.5% of the voters. To see the complete results, please visit my "Commentary" site at http://www.geowayne.com/psbhtml.htm and select one of the "Past Survey Results" option in the top nav area or click the appropriate link on my "What's New?" page. My new poll for the week ahead shifts back from fantasy to reality. I'm simply wondering whether you have ever been *surprised* to discover that someone else was a Pet Shop Boys fan -- and, if so, which categories of people surprised you in this way. Mind you, I'm not asking simply whether you have ever discovered that someone else was a fan; I'm specifically interested in whether such a discovery surprised you. So please take a moment to make your choice(s) from the options provided right there on my home page. Thanks to everyone who voted in last week's survey! And I hope you all have a surprisingly good week ahead! Tomorrow (Saturday) is the last full day of my current poll, which asks whether you have ever been *surprised* (and that's the key word, "surprised") to discover that someone else is also a Pet Shop Boys fan -- and, if so, which of various listed categories those fellow fans fall into. If you haven't taken part yet, please take a moment to visit my "Commentary" site at http://www.geowayne.com/psbhtml.htm and make your choice(s) right there on my home page. On Sunday I will end this poll, post the final results, and launch a new survey for the week ahead. Thanks to everyone who has already voted! And I hope you all have a most delightful weekend! So the final results are now in for my survey last week, in which I asked my site visitors whether they have ever been surprised to discover that someone else was also a Pet Shop Boys fan and, if so, which categories of people they belong to. And the response that received the most votes was: * "No, I've never been surprised to discover that someone else was a PSB fan," chosen by 33.0% of the voters. Of those who *have* been surprised, the largest vote went to "A particular singer or musician," picked by 22.3%. My new poll for the week ahead spins off from one of my website list, the one on Pet Shop Boys songs at least partly based on classical compositions. I'm wondering which of these songs (at least those that were written by Chris and Neil) is your personal favorite. Pretty straightforward, right? So please check out the choices right there on my home page and make your selection. In the meantime, thanks to everyone who voted in last week's survey! And I wish you all a wonderful week ahead! Seeing as how we -- or least those of us in the Northern Hemisphere -- have just now entered summer, I've decided for this week's poll to ask a somewhat "seasonal" question. Music critics sometimes talk about certain songs or albums being "summery" -- that is, they evoke or reflect a mood of warm, brightness, and fun reminiscent of summertime. So I'm wondering which of the Pet Shop Boys' studio albums strikes you as being the most summery? Please mull this over and, when you're ready, make your choice right there on my home page. In the meantime, thanks to everyone who voted in last week's survey! And I hope you all have a very summery week ahead -- yes, even if you don't live in the Northern Hemisphere. But that, of course, is only if you *want* a summery week ahead. (Hey, some people prefer other seasons! ;-) Wayne http://www.geowayne.com/psbhtml.htm
