The final results are in for my poll this past week, in which I asked my
site visitors which Pet Shop Boys studio album has, in their opinion, the
strongest "bookend songs" -- that is, the best combination of opening and
closing tracks. And the album and songs that received the largest number of
votes were:

* Behaviour - "Being Boring" / "Jealousy," chosen by 22.0% of the voters.

I found the "race," so to speak, especially interesting this week, as
Behaviour, Very, and Electric regularly jostled amongst themselves for first
place, at least during the first half of the week. It wasn't until mid-week
(around Wednesday or Thursday) that Behaviour settled in comfortably at the
peak position. At any rate, to see the complete results, please visit my
"Commentary" site at http://www.geowayne.com/psbhtml.htm and select one of
the Past Survey Results options in the top navigation area, or click the
appropriate link on my "What's New?" page.

The lead (that is, first) single from a new album generally plays an
important role in determining that album's commercial success. So that's a
consideration (though perhaps not the only or even the most important one)
in my new poll for the week ahead, which once more breaks your choices down
by studio album. I'm asking you to select what you regard as the best or
most effective album lead single. Thanks so much to Jules Chance for
suggesting this question!

And thanks as well to everyone who voted in last week's survey. I wish you
all a most excellent week ahead!

Wayne
