I'm listening to it now on a good system, and it sounds excellent. I'm getting a Battleship Potemkin vibe and that has become one of my favorites from the boys. To summarize the outcomes: * A clear majority of the voters would prefer an instrumental version of *each* of the studio albums to an a cappella version, * "Electric" was the album chosen by more voters (74.7%) than any other for an instrumental version, and * "Behaviour" was the album chosen by more voters (27.4%) than any other for an a cappella version. To see the complete results, please visit my "Commentary" site at http://www.geowayne.com/psbhtml.htm and click one of the "Past Survey Results" options in the top navigation area or click the appropriate link on my "What's New?" page. My new poll for the week ahead deals with "A Man from the Future," which Chris and Neil premiered live a week-and-a-half ago. But instead of simply asking your early opinion of it, I'm dividing the question into two parts: 1. What do you think of it in terms of their "outside works" (often credited to "Tennant-Lowe"), such as their stage musical "Closer to Heaven," their film score for "Battleship Potemkin," and their ballet "The Most Incredible Thing"? 2. What do you think of it in terms of "PSB overall" -- that is, all of the music Neil and Chris have released, including each and every Pet Shop Boys album? Of course, if you haven't heard "A Man from the Future" yet or aren't yet familiar enough with it to make such a judgment, then I provide an option in the poll for that, too -- although it's still available for online listening (at least in some countries; I provide a link to it on my website). So please take a few moments to make your choices right there on my home page. In the meantime, thanks to everyone who voted in last week's survey! And I hope you all have a fantastic week ahead! Tomorrow (Saturday) is the last full day of my current poll, which asks your early opinions of "A Man from the Future," both as one of the Pet Shop Boys' "outside projects" and within their body of work overall. If you haven't voted yet, please take a few moments to visit my "Commentary" site at http://www.geowayne.com/psbhtml.htm and make your choices right there on my home page. (And if you haven't heard it yet, I provide the link there; hopefully it will work for you.) On Sunday I will end this poll, post the final results, and launch a new survey for the week ahead. And the responses that received the most votes were: * As one of their outside projects, "It's one of the better ones, but not the best," chosen by 30.8% of the voters, and * For PSB overall, "It's good. I like it!" chosen by 27.3% of the voters. To see the complete results, please visit my "Commentary" site at http://www.geowayne.com/psbhtml.htm and either choose one of the appropriate options in the top navigation area or click the appropriate link on my "What's New?" page. My new poll for the week ahead may seem somewhat sillier than most, but I think it's good to lighten up and be a little silly every now and then. Speaking metaphorically (of course), if the Pet Shop Boys were a color of the rainbow, what color would you say they were at three different phases of their career: early, middle, and recent? So please think this over and make your choices right there on my home page. And I hope you have some fun with this one! Thanks so much to the site visitor -- a regular who has in this case asked to remain anonymous -- for offering the suggestion upon which this question is based. (I've modified it a bit from his or her original idea.) Thanks as well to everyone who voted in last week's survey! And I hope you have a very colorful (in the best possible way) week ahead!
