The final results are in for my poll this past week, in which I asked my
site visitors their opinions about the Pet Shop Boys' refusal to cancel
their recent concert in Tel Aviv despite protests by pro-Palestinian
activists. And the responses that received the most votes were:
* "I diagree and/or don't sympathize with the effort to persuade them to
cancel the show," chosen by 42.4% of the voters,
* "I agree and/or sympathize with the Boys' decision to go ahead with the
show," chosen by 69.8%, and
* "I agree and/or sympathize with what Neil wrote about it on their
website," chosen by 61.7% of the voters.
To see the complete results, please visit my "Commentary" site at

button in the navigation bar.
My new poll for the week ahead switches attention back to the new album
"Electric." At this point, every track on the album has been very publicly
"unveiled" in one form or another -- either in whole or in part, in the
studio version and/or performed live -- even before the album itself has
been released. I'm wondering how you feel about this. So I'm offering a
selection of more than a dozen different statements concerning this fact,
asking which ones you agree with. So please, when you can, check them out
right there on my home page and make your selections.
In the meantime, thanks to everyone who voted in last week's survey! And I
hope you all have a fantastic week ahead! And to my fellow U.S. fans, I wish
you all a very happy and safe Independence Day!
