The final results are in for my poll this past week, in which I asked my
site visitors their opinion of the fact that there's no full-fledged music
video for the Pet Shop Boys' new single "Memory of the Future." And the
response that received the largest number of votes was:

* "It's [the result of] a combination of two or maybe all three of [several
factors I listed among the choices]," chosen 34.2% of the voters.

To see the complete results, please visit my "Commentary" site at
http://www.geowayne.com/psbhtml.htm and click the "Past Survey Results"
button in the navigation bar.

My new survey for the week ahead asks you to look back on everything the
Boys have done throughout their career: not just their recorded music
output, but also live shows, side projects, TV and radio appearances, music
videos, graphic artwork, print publications-everything. If we were to divide
their career into "eras" of roughly a half-decade each, which "PSB era" has
been, in your opinion, the best overall? (Of course, I leave it completely
up to you to determine what "the best overall" means and what constitutes
it.) Thanks to Shayne Lawton for suggesting this question.

By the way, I'm experiencing some serious slowness with many of the pages of
my website loading. Pages that normally load almost instantaneously are
taking sometimes as much as a minute to load. If you recall, my site had
similar problems for a few days several months ago. Now, I'm not having this
problem any other website -- just my own. Yet my website hosting service
claims there's nothing wrong and that they're not observing any slow loading
when they look at any pages on my site, thereby implying that the problem is
strictly local to my own computer. So if you observe any severe slowness in
my site's pages loading, I'd appreciate your letting me know so that I can
present that evidence to my hosting service and press them for a solution.
(And I also apologize for any frustration or inconvenience this may cause.)
On the other hand, if everything seems normal to you, then maybe the problem
is somehow specific to my own computer.

In the meantime, thanks to everyone who voted in last week's survey! And I
wish you all a superb week ahead!

Wayne
