The final results are in for my poll last week -- the latest installment in
my ongoing "Rating Project," in which I ask my site visitors to rate Pet
Shop Boys songs on a scale of 0 to 10 as they compare to other PSB songs,
with 0 meaning "one of their all-time worst songs" and 10 meaning "one of
their all-time best." This time around I was asking about the bonus songs on
the two most recent singles, "Leaving" and "Memory of the Future" (as well
as one older song I had previously overlooked). And the song in this poll
that received the highest average rating was:

* "In His Imagination," which ended up with an average rating of 7.081.

This also earns "In His Imagination" a ranking of #86 among all PSB songs
rated to date.

To see the complete results, please visit my "Commentary" site at
http://www.geowayne.com/psbhtml.htm and click the "Past Survey Results"
button in the navigation bar. And you can also see how all of the songs in
this past week's survey rank overall by going to my "Extras" section and
selecting "The Rating Project."

My new poll for the week ahead is something of a re-run of a poll that I
first ran more than ten years ago, although this time I'm approaching it
from a very different angle. The first time around, back in 2001, I simply
asked my site visitors to pick their favorite PSB album cover. But this
time -- with several additional album covers to choose from -- I'm asking
you to rank all of the covers of the Boys' eleven studio albums from 1 to
11, with #1 being your favorite cover (or the one you believe to be
qualitatively the best) and #11 being your least-favorite.

Please note that unlike last week, which involved ratings -- in which two or
more songs might have the exact same rating -- this week involves rankings.
So no two album covers can have the same ranking. Even if you honestly
believe two or more to be "tied" in terms of how much you like them or how
good you think they are, I'm asking you to make the hard choice and force a
different rankings. So please, when you get the chance, take a few moments
to register your rankings right there on my home page.

In the meantime, thanks to everyone who voted in last week's survey! And I
hope your week ahead ranks as one of the very best!
