The final results are in for my survey this past week, in which I asked my
site visitors to rate recent miscellaneous songs written and/or released by
the Pet Shop Boys on a scale of 0 to 10, with 0 meaning "one of the worst
they've ever done" and 10 meaning "one of the very best." And the song that
received the highest average rating this time around was:

* "After the Event," which ended up with an average rating of 7.398.

To see the complete results -- the average ratings for all of the songs in
the poll, the percentage of voters who rated each of them at the extremes
(10 and 0), and how these songs ended up in the overall ratings compared to
the entire Pet Shop Boys corpus -- please visit my "Commentary" site at
http://www.geowayne.com/psbhtml.htm and click the "Past Survey Results"
button in the left navigation bar.

My new poll for the week ahead asks a question that has been tossed around
in PSB fandom for quite some time now. In light of the relatively poor
performance of recent PSB singles in many countries (including their native
U.K.), do you think it's now time for the Boys to give up releasing singles
and instead focus just on albums and perhaps other more "ambitious" or
"experimental" music? Let the debate begin! ;-)

Thanks to everyone who voted in last week's survey! I wish you all a great
week ahead and a very, very happy, safe, and successful New Year!
