The final results are in for my poll this past week, in which I asked my
site visitors to pick the songs that would make up their "ideal" live set
list for the Pet Shop Boys' upcoming world tour. The only rules were (1)
they could choose no more than 20 songs and (2) exactly five of them had to
be new songs from the "Yes era." Within these guidelines, the songs that
received the most votes were:

The top 5 "Yes era" songs:

* "Love etc." chosen by 79.3% of the voters
* "Pandemonium," chosen by 73.5%
* "All Over the World," picked by 72.6%
* "The Way It Used to Be," selected by 58.5%
* "Did You See Me Coming?" chosen by 54.3%

The top 15 "Pre-Yes" songs:

* "Being Boring," picked by 52.4%
* "Always on My Mind" - 48.8%
* "It's a Sin" - 47.0%
* "Can You Forgive Her?" - 42.4%
* "Go West" - 40.5%
* "West End Girls" - 38.1%
* "Flamboyant" - 36.6%
* "Integral" - 34.1%
* "Left to My Own Devices" - 33.5%
* "Minimal" - 3.17%
* "A Red Letter Day" - 27.7%
* "Heart" - 27.1%
* "Domino Dancing" - 24.4%
* "I Wouldn't Normally Do This Kind of Thing" - 23.8%
* "Suburbia" - 22.0%

Please keep in mind that a "collective judgment" like this, based on the
majority or plurality of votes, will inevitably tend toward the
"mainstream." Personally, what I find most interesting are highest
vote-getters from among the songs that the Boys have never yet performed
live in concert, which include:

* "Fugitive" - 16.2%
* "Delusions of Grandeur" - 13.1%
* "The Resurrectionist" - 11.6%

button in the left navigation bar.

My new poll for the week ahead may seem a bit silly to some, but I hope
everyone will take it in the spirit of lighthearted fun in which it is
offered. As you probably know, the check/tic mark on the cover of "Yes" is
composed of eleven squares, each a different color. In a sense, each square
represents one of the eleven songs on the album. So I'm asking you to match
up each colored square with a specific song. Thanks so much to Mark R.Y. for
suggesting this delightful question!

And thanks to everyone who voted in last week's survey! I know that it may
have been somewhat challenging and even frustrating to many of you to narrow
down your choices to just twenty, so I really appreciate it! And I hope you
all have a marvelous week ahead!
