HEADLINE: YOKO,70, AIMS FOR TOP 20

YOKO ONO could score her biggest UK hit single more than 20 years after the death of her husband, ex- Beatle John Lennon.

Now 70, Yoko, left, has joined forces with The Pet Shop Boys to record a new dance version of her great song Walking On Thin Ice. The original only reached No35 in 1981. Thanks to Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe, the new version is tipped for the top 20.

In 1987, they duetted with Dusty Springfield on What Have I Done To Deserve This which hit No2.

An insider said: "Neil and Chris kept saying why doesn't somebody cover Walking On Thin Ice?' In the end they decided to do it themselves with Yoko."

Her success could leave arch-rival Paul McCartney gnashing his teeth. He hasn't had a UK top 10 single since 1987.
