The final results are in for my poll this past week, in which I asked my
site visitors to choose the single factor (aside from the recordings
themselves) that has *most* saved the Pet Shop Boys from being just another
"eighties oldies act." And the factor chosen by the largest number of voters
was:

* "Great songwriting," picked by 46.9% of the voters.

To see the complete results, please visit my "Commentary" site at

button in the navigation bar.

My new poll for the week ahead shifts attention back to the upcoming new PSB
album "Electric." I'm wondering how you would describe your own relative
"excitement level" in anticipation of it. For example, are you more excited
than you were for Elysium? Or more excited than for longer than that? Or are
you perhaps *less* excited than usual? So please mull this over and, when
you're ready, make your choice from the options provided right there on my
home page. And thanks so much to Tan Sam for suggesting this intriguing
question.

Thanks as well to everyone who voted in last week's survey! And I hope you
all have a terrific week ahead!
